Barry Manilow Postpones Las Vegas Residency Following Cancer Surgery Recovery
Barry Manilow Delays Vegas Shows After Cancer Diagnosis

Showbiz icon Barry Manilow has announced the postponement of several key dates in his celebrated Las Vegas residency, as he continues to prioritise his recovery from recent cancer surgery. The 82-year-old singer, renowned for timeless classics such as Copacabana and Mandy, revealed last year that a cancerous spot had been detected on his left lung, necessitating surgical intervention.

Medical Guidance Leads to Performance Delay

In a heartfelt statement issued to his fans, Manilow explained that he is adhering strictly to his physician's advice by taking additional time to heal. The affected performances, originally scheduled from February 12th to February 21st at the Westgate Las Vegas, will now be rescheduled to allow the star to concentrate fully on his recuperation.

"I'm doing great and recovering very well after my surgery," Manilow assured his supporters. "I've been getting exercise and spending some time in the studio, which has been fantastic. With my doctor's guidance and recommendation, however, we have decided to postpone my residency dates so I can stay focused on healing and getting ready for the tour that's kicking off at the end of February."

Early Detection and Positive Prognosis

The music veteran emphasised his considerable fortune in having the malignancy identified at an extremely early stage, attributing this to both luck and the diligence of his medical team. Following a prolonged bout of bronchitis, an MRI scan was ordered as a precautionary measure, which subsequently uncovered the concerning spot.

Manilow provided further context, stating: "The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed. It's pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early. That's the good news. The bad news is that now that the Christmas Gift Of Love concerts are over I'm going into surgery to have the spot removed."

Recovery Plan and Rescheduled Commitments

Thankfully, medical professionals do not believe the cancer has spread, and the treatment plan does not involve chemotherapy or radiation. Instead, Manilow's recovery regimen includes rest and monitoring, with the artist humorously noting his prescription of "chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns."

The postponement impacts not only the Las Vegas residency but also a series of arena concerts that were slated for January across various US cities, including Orlando, Tampa, and Columbus. All tickets for the delayed Vegas dates will be fully refunded, with new dates to be announced in due course.

A Message of Caution to Fans

Concluding his update, the Grammy-winning artist issued a poignant health warning to his audience, urging vigilance regarding potential symptoms. "Remember, if you have even the slightest symptom…get tested!" he advised, highlighting the critical importance of early medical consultation.

Manilow remains optimistic about his return to the stage, expressing eagerness for his upcoming tour engagements later in February and throughout 2026, as he continues to prioritise his wellbeing during this challenging period.
