A24 has released the first trailer for 'Primetime', a drama starring Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen, the host of 'To Catch a Predator'. The film explores the origins of the controversial true-crime programme that aired as part of Dateline NBC.
The trailer shows Pattinson's Hansen questioning suspects with lines familiar to viewers of the show, such as: 'What would have happened if I wasn't here? You see how this looks, right?' and 'I'm Chris Hansen with Dateline NBC — and you're able to be a part of television history.'
Directed by Lance Oppenheim, known for 'Ren Faire', the film also stars Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, and musician Phoebe Bridgers. The script was written by Ajon Singh, with production by Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Fred Berger, Pattinson, Brighton McCloskey, Lars Knudsen, and Tyler Campellone.
'Primetime' is set for release this autumn, though an official date has not yet been announced. The teaser suggests the film may take a critical view of Hansen's methods, similar to the 2025 documentary 'Predators'.
