Alec & Hilaria Baldwin React as Comedian Roasts Their Hamptons Home in Viral Video
Baldwins react to comedian's viral Hamptons home roast

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have issued contrasting responses after a popular comedian launched a brutal and very public takedown of their sprawling Hamptons vacation home in a viral social media video.

The Viral Critique That Sparked a Reaction

Last month, content creator Dan Mahboubian Rosen, who has built a following by critiquing celebrity homes, turned his attention to The Baldwins' New York property. Using an exaggerated accent that appeared to mock Hilaria's own controversial Spanish inflection, Rosen reviewed photographs of the couple's home originally published in The New York Times in August.

His Instagram video, which has since amassed over 320,000 views, humorously dissected the interiors, colour schemes, and overall decor. The comedian began in a beige-toned room the family uses for puzzles, questioning, "How does someone with so much money like Alec Baldwin live in a place like this?"

A Scathing Room-by-Room Assessment

Rosen's critique left no room untouched. Pointing to a cat asleep on a sofa, he quipped, "Look, even the cat is falling asleep, it is so bored with the home." He suggested the decor looked like the budget ran out on a Hallmark film set and declared, "There's nothing here."

Moving to the living room, which featured a large pop-art painting of Hilaria above the fireplace, Rosen asked if the couple had used a "Groupon to Pottery Barn," labelling everything as "boring." He famously remarked, "This is where Barbara Bush would come to play bridge," and even demanded to "free the lights" from their confined fittings.

The all-white bathroom was dismissed as a "mayonnaise bathroom," with Rosen questioning if the design inspiration was a "set of veneers." His sole compliment was reserved for the pop-art portrait of Hilaria, which he called "the only thing remotely with personality in this whole home." He concluded that the backyard's intricate wooden jungle gym possessed "more personality than the whole home," adding he would rather live in it.

The Baldwin's Property History and Change of Heart

According to The New York Times, Alec Baldwin first purchased the 11,000-square-foot Hamptons farmhouse in 1995 for $1.6 million. The property has seen significant investment over the years. A giant pool was installed in 1996, and after marrying Hilaria in 2012, Alec added 1,400 square feet of interior space.

The home now boasts five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a library, a basement movie theatre converted into a playroom, and a spacious open-concept living area. It was featured in the couple's reality series, The Baldwins, earlier this year.

The couple, who share seven young children, had initially listed the property in November 2022 and even accepted an offer in 2024. However, they ultimately decided against the sale. Alec explained to the Times that their children's happiness was the deciding factor, stating, "When I go up to the kids and go, 'Want to sell the house?', they go crazy. It's a kid's home that I never want to leave."

Diverging Public Responses

The couple's reactions to the viral video were notably different. Hilaria, 41, responded with a simple laughing emoji in the comments section. Her husband, however, appeared to take greater offence, writing directly to the comedian, "Why don't you go away?"

This incident highlights the intense public scrutiny faced by celebrities, where even their personal home decor choices can become fodder for widespread online commentary and debate.
