On 16 July 2025, Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot attended a Coldplay concert in Boston, where they were caught on the band's kiss cam cuddling and then jumping apart in shock. The brief clip, uploaded by a fellow concert-goer, went viral globally, sparking months of public intrigue and parody.
Byron, the married CEO of software firm Astronomer, and Cabot, the head of HR, became targets of online mockery and corporate satire. The Philadelphia Phillies' mascot re-enacted the moment, and Stephen Colbert incorporated Donald Trump into a parody on his show. Strictly Come Dancing's Claudia Winkleman also referenced the incident in October.
Brands quickly capitalised on the meme: Duolingo's German arm posted a denial guide, Ikea Singapore shared a photo of cuddling toys with the caption 'HR approved', and Nando's Australia ran a promo with the code COLDPLAY. The New York Department of Sanitation used the video in a trash-dumping warning.
Byron resigned from Astronomer and reportedly sold his $5.8m Manhattan apartment, though he was seen with his wife in Maine in September. Cabot told the New York Times she received 500–600 calls daily, death threats, and nasty comments. She reiterated that she had separated from her husband weeks before the concert; her husband was at the same show with a date.
