Welsh actor Aneurin Barnard, known for roles in Dunkirk and Peaky Blinders, rugby tackled a handbag thief while en route to the premiere of his latest film, Rogue Trooper, at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France. The 39-year-old actor chased down and apprehended the thief who had snatched a bag from a woman just moments before, according to film director Duncan Jones.
Details of the Incident
Jones, the son of music legend David Bowie, recounted the event on social media, stating that Barnard witnessed the theft and immediately gave chase. Barnard tackled the suspect to the ground and held him until police arrived, then returned the handbag to its owner, whom Jones described as a "traumatised granny." After the incident, Barnard calmly walked to his film panel and shared stories from the shoot with the audience. Jones added, "Folks, I swooned."
