Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's Black Eye: New Theory Emerges
Andrew's Black Eye: Bombshell New Claim

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's prominent black eye has sparked a new and controversial theory. The 66-year-old former prince was photographed with a large bruise while being driven in a car near his home on Marsh Farm in the Sandringham Estate, Norfolk. No official explanation has been provided for the injury.

Journalist's Bombshell Claim

Charlotte Griffiths, Editor at Large of the Mail on Sunday, shared her thoughts on The Royals Uncensored podcast. She said: "Well, I think when the palace says nothing to see here, not a big deal, and I think they use the actual words, it's not a big deal, then I go digging immediately. And so that's what I did."

Griffiths revealed that four years ago, Andrew had a similar bruise on the same eye, and King Charles was filmed pointing at it at a royal event, asking, "What on earth is that?" A lip reader confirmed the King's words: "How on earth did you get that on your face?"

Griffiths stated: "I just think it's extraordinary that a man has had two black eyes in the space of four years. Is that a black eye? It's a black cheek. Do you not think that's a theory? I have a theory. My theory is that there was some sort of scuffle. Maybe with his security. I heard a rumour about that, because he's a really difficult man to deal with. And I can just imagine every once in a while somebody must get very frustrated and just give him a slap."

Reactions and Further Speculation

Jo Elvin responded: "That's quite a bold claim. Just have that little movie playing in your head." She added: "I wonder if it's the skin finally reacting to all that non-sweating from all these years. Yeah, maybe it's a build-up of a request sweat."

Griffiths replied: "Do you know, I think we'll find out eventually. I think we will find out eventually. Not least because I'm digging every moment I can get."

Previous Incident at Sandringham

Andrew's injury follows a recent incident where a mystery man approached him while he was walking the late Queen Elizabeth's corgis near the Sandringham Estate in May. According to The Sun, a man wearing a balaclava shouted at Andrew in a public park in Wolferton, forcing Andrew to flee in his car. The incident led Andrew to demand the reinstatement of his security protection.

Alex Jenkinson, 39, pleaded not guilty at Westminster Magistrates' Court to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
