Former television presenter Anne Robinson has been seen in public for the first time since confirming her relationship with Andrew Parker Bowles, the ex-husband of Queen Camilla. The 79-year-old was photographed after a shopping trip in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, appearing relaxed and smiling at photographers.
Robinson, best known for hosting The Weakest Link, wore blue leggings, a loose blue T-shirt, a red cross-body bag, and a matching red Ralph Lauren cap. Her outing marks the first time she has been photographed since announcing the relationship last month and since leaving her role on Channel 4’s Countdown in 2022.
Robinson and Parker Bowles, 84, confirmed their relationship in May after months of speculation. Robinson issued a brief statement: ‘Yes. Full stop. Mind your own business.’ She later told Saga magazine, for which she is the new agony aunt, that she is ‘a great believer in surprising yourself by taking risks’ and that dating in her 70s has perks as she is ‘much more selective’.
Parker Bowles was married to Queen Camilla from 1973 to 1995, and they have two children, Tom and Laura. A source told The Sun that Camilla is ‘very supportive’ of the new relationship and has joked about going on a double date. The source added that Robinson is ‘a strong, lively, opinionated woman’ who could ‘crack royal circles’.
Despite confirming their relationship, the couple have rarely been seen together. A source said they ‘both wanted to keep this quiet for as long as possible’ and that it is unlikely they will move in together as Robinson is ‘fiercely independent’.
