Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Duke of York, is reportedly planning a "revenge" that involves his two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, according to royal author Andrew Lownie. The claim comes after Andrew lost his royal titles and his home within the past year, allegedly feeling mistreated by his brother, King Charles.
Background of Andrew's Fall from Grace
Andrew has kept a low profile since the release of the Epstein files, which revealed he maintained contact with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein after Epstein's conviction for child sex offences. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing. Despite his reduced public role, sources indicate he is unhappy with how he has been treated and is now seeking to restore his family's status.
Daughters as 'Fighters'
According to Lownie, Andrew views his daughters as "fighters, Princesses of blood who should be treated properly." He is reportedly keen for Beatrice and Eugenie to remain centre stage in royal life to represent the York family. Lownie told The Mirror: "He doesn't think they've (his daughters) done anything wrong. I think Eugenie and Beatrice feel the same. They just take it as natural that they should be able to support Saudi businesses and be paid to attend events. That's what they've done all their lives, and they don't see why that should change."
Email Ahead of Wedding
Cosmopolitan reported that Andrew emailed his daughters before Peter Phillips and Harriet Phillips' wedding, urging them to "hold their heads high" and be photographed walking into the event. He reportedly does not want his daughters to be exiled from royal life as he has been.
Hope for Regaining Status
Lownie added that Andrew hopes by keeping his daughters visible in royal circles, he might one day regain some of his former status. The author also revealed that Andrew is still reportedly conducting business deals with Middle Eastern businessmen. Lownie said: "[Seeking revenge or a return to his former life] would certainly fit with his character. I think he feels that he's been thrown to the wolves."
