Amanda Holden has spoken candidly about her regrets following the end of her marriage to Les Dennis. During a heartfelt conversation with close friend Alan Carr on their BBC One travel programme, the television personality admitted she had 'made mistakes' but said those experiences shaped who she is today.
Holden and Dennis married in 1995 and separated in 2002, with their divorce finalised the following year. The relationship crumbled after revelations of her affair with fellow actor Neil Morrissey. Reflecting on the past, Holden said: 'As much as I regret hurting people maybe, or causing chaos, it shapes you to who you are in this moment. And I think life is too short to have regrets.'
Discussing his own experiences, Carr confessed to struggling with trust after his divorce from Paul Drayton. Holden reassured him: 'After a divorce, what you do think is that you are never gonna find love again. Do you sort of trust yourself to fall in love and make a good decision about somebody for the rest of your life?' Carr replied: 'I don't really trust anyone really, that's the trouble.'
Holden is now happily married to Chris Hughes, with whom she shares two daughters. Carr, meanwhile, separated from Drayton in 2022 after 14 years together.
