Adam Peaty's Tears at Wedding to Holly Ramsay Amid Family Feud Revealed
Adam Peaty's wedding tears and family rift revealed

Olympic champion Adam Peaty was overcome with emotion, shedding tears as his bride Holly Ramsay walked down the aisle during their lavish wedding ceremony at Bath Abbey on Saturday. The touching moment was revealed by his close friend and fellow Strictly Come Dancing alumna, Sara Davies.

A Celebrity Affair and Emotional Vows

The 31-year-old swimmer tied the knot with 25-year-old influencer Holly in a star-studded ceremony, followed by a reception at the exclusive Kin House in Wiltshire. Dragon's Den star Sara Davies, 41, who attended with her husband Simon, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, describing the privilege of witnessing the union.

"It was a real honour to sit in Bath Abbey and watch him get emotional as the love of his life walked down the aisle," Davies wrote. She praised the "beautiful" service and declared the wedding feast the "best wedding food I've ever had."

Other notable guests included Sir David and Victoria Beckham and their children, as well as TV presenter Dan Walker, who also competed on Strictly in 2021. Walker shared a glimpse of the order of service on social media, calling the day "unforgettable."

A Bitter Family Rift Overshadows the Day

However, the joyous occasion was marred by a significant and painful family dispute. Adam Peaty's mother, Caroline, was not invited to the wedding, nor was she included in Holly's hen party at Soho Farmhouse last month, which was attended by the bride's mother, Tana Ramsay, and Victoria Beckham.

Speaking from the family home in Staffordshire, a heartbroken Caroline Peaty, 59, told The Mail on Sunday she felt her son and his new wife had "cut my heart out." She was reportedly "beside herself" with grief at missing the event.

The rift appears to have deepened in September 2024, when wider Peaty family members were snubbed for the engagement party. On the wedding day itself, Adam's aunt Louise sent him a devastating text message, stating, "I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through."

Adam's sister, Bethany, was the only member of his immediate family present, serving as a bridesmaid alongside Holly's sisters. The bridesmaids wore dresses designed by Victoria Beckham.

A Lavish and Secretive Celebration

The Ramsay family ensured privacy by block-booking Bath Abbey for the day, with security guards stationed at the doors. Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was on hand to escort his daughter, who wore a lace gown concealed under an ivory cloak, into the historic church.

The ceremony was described as "beautiful and very emotional" by one guest. Following the service, the newlyweds were driven to Kin House for a reception featuring a menu of prawn cocktail, beef Wellington, and pan-roasted halibut.

While the day was meticulously planned and executed, the absence of the groom's family cast a long shadow. The event is expected to feature in an upcoming Netflix documentary series about the Ramsay family, which may offer Caroline Peaty her first proper glimpse of her son's wedding.
