Gordon Ramsay has revealed that his tears at daughter Holly's wedding to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty were prompted by the price of her dress, rather than any family tensions. The celebrity chef made the admission during an appearance on the Jennifer Hudson show, where he joked about the cost of the nuptials.
Ramsay, 59, said: "I was very emotional. I was crying because I realized how expensive the dress was there. That is when it suddenly hit me. It was quite an emotional moment." He also reflected on seeing Holly transform, adding: "Seeing your daughter there for the first time when you come down and you just see this little girl just transforms into this amazing lady. It just gets you."
The chef steered clear of discussing the reported rift between Peaty and his estranged mother, which has been a subject of media speculation. However, it is understood that Ramsay made a fiery father-of-the-bride speech referencing the family feud, telling his wife Tana she "will be a good mum to them both." A source claimed Peaty's mother was "outraged" and "hurt" by the remarks.
Ramsay also shared relationship advice passed on to his six children, emphasizing the importance of quality time. "The secret of any great relationship is not just the communication but time together – dating, dinners, cinema, jogging," he said. He confirmed that daughter Tilly is the only one following his culinary path, having recently returned from culinary school.
