Olympic champion swimmer Adam Peaty has described his famous father-in-law Gordon Ramsay as an 'incredible blessing' as he prepares to become a father for the second time. In a candid interview with BBC Breakfast, Peaty spoke warmly about his new wife Holly Ramsay-Peaty and their unborn baby girl, but made no mention of his estranged mother Caroline.
Baby News and Wedding Memories
Peaty, 31, and Holly Ramsay-Peaty, 26, announced they are expecting their first child together last month. The couple married in a lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey in December 2025. Peaty already has a five-year-old son from a previous relationship with artist Eirianedd Munro.
Reflecting on his wedding day, Peaty said: '2026 has already been one of those years. Our wedding was one of the best days of my life. Watching Holly walk down the aisle, it's a view that I'll never ever forget. It's almost like I've got a snapshot in my brain, and the music in the church was just incredible.'
Praise for Gordon Ramsay
The swimmer, who is set to compete in his fourth Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer as part of the England team, spoke highly of his new father-in-law. 'Having Gordon as my father-in-law is an incredible blessing,' he said. 'I'm also expecting a baby little girl. Well, I'm incredibly excited. For me, that role of being a father has been just incredible.'
Peaty added: 'To have another human in this world that loves and cherishes you, I think it's the biggest blessing. My love for them isn't going to be judged by a medal, and obviously with Holly going through pregnancy, all I can pray for is her happiness and health, as well as the baby. And for me, that does push me even more to, I guess, grow up.'
Family Estrangement
Peaty is no longer speaking to his parents Caroline and Mark, according to reports. The interview made no reference to his mother in relation to the happy news. Peaty reportedly met Holly through her sister Tilly when the two took part in the BBC dancing programme Strictly Come Dancing in 2021.
Peaty is one of Britain's most successful swimmers, having won six Olympic medals across four Games, including three golds. He will be aiming for more glory at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer.
