Tamil actor Karthik Sabesh has died aged 37, just days after the death of his famous composer uncle Deva. Karthik passed away on 19 October, with Deva having died on 17 October at the age of 75.
Health Struggles Before Death
No official cause of death has been confirmed, but Karthik had been battling serious health complications. He spent the two months before his death in hospital receiving treatment, including dialysis, and reports indicate his condition worsened significantly over his final fortnight.
The Tamil star was in the intensive care unit at a private hospital in Chennai prior to his passing. Following his death, his body was returned to his home to allow the public to pay their respects before his funeral.
Showbusiness Family Background
Karthik came from a showbusiness family. His father, M. C. Sabesan, widely known as Sabesh, died in 2025 after a career as one half of the music duo Sabesh-Murali. The pair composed scores for a number of Tamil films, including Samuthiram, Thavamai Thavamirundhu and Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi.
Karthik was also a cousin of actor Jai and composers Srikanth Deva and Bobo Shashi. He began his acting career in 2004 with the Tamil film Dreams. He went on to feature in Vallavan, Kaadhal Solla Vandhen, Pattathu Yaanai, Udhayam NH4, Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaanikalum, Burma and Mahabalipuram.

Karthik was praised for his comedic timing and witty one-liners, which critics consistently noted as his remarkable talent for keeping audiences entertained. He leaves behind his wife, Ramya, their two daughters, Brishanithara and Hairanithara, and his elder sisters, Geetha Sabesh and Archana Sabesh.
Fans were left stunned as news of his death was announced and countless tributes poured in.
