Abbey Clancy jokingly accused Peter Crouch of having an affair after he debuted a new look she disapproved of. During a joint appearance on their podcast The Therapy Crouch, conversation turned to her husband's new moustache.
The model, 40, who married footballer Peter, 45, in 2011, heard him say: "Well, I'm sporting a moustache at the moment. I kind of did it for a little bit of fun. You said it was nice." Abbey exclaimed: "You're making up this fake story," claiming that while she does like her husband with a moustache, it is the combination of it with a middle part that she cannot take to.
Abbey's Disapproval of the New Look
She said: "It gets worse. So he then decides to put his hair in a middle part. He came down with a tash and middle part, gelled, looking like freaking Alfalfa from The Little Rascals... But then a jumper tied his shoulders in."
She added: "I think you must be having an affair, you gotta be." Peter claimed that his new do came as a result of their 15-year-old daughter Sophie "putting his hair in different situations" and his reason behind wrapping the jumper round his shoulders was so it wasn't going to get in the way during a trip to the bathroom.
Peter's Response and the Reason Behind the Style
Abbey added: "He came back looking like the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. With the new shorts he bought himself." It was then that Peter laughed as he said: "So, no, Ab is all like [thinking] I'm either having an affair or midlife crisis but there's a reason behind it al, so it's making me want to do it more."
Abbey hit back: "It's not winding me up more. I actually like the tash, and I actually like your hair in the middle part, but it's just so... for someone who's had zero interest in how they look for the past 20 years..."
Peter's Final Say and Upcoming Series
Peter ultimately proclaimed that he "doesn't give a f***" because he "takes pride" in the way he looks anyway. Having the final say on the matter, Abbey said: "No, I just mean you're the kind of get up out of the shower, clothes on kind of guy!"
Earlier this year, the couple teamed up with Prime Video, which was also behind That Peter Crouch Film, for their new reality series titled The Crouches, set to premiere next year. Much like the recently-launched Meet the Owens, The Crouches follows Peter and Abbey, who will be allowing the cameras into their family home for a year to document the chaos.
Speaking about the new series, Peter said: "We're so excited about our new series with Prime Video." He continued: "I absolutely loved making That Peter Crouch Film, so much so that this time I've somehow managed to drag Abbey and the whole family into it!"
However, the star shared his reservations as he explained: "It's a bit scary as it's warts and all, but I'm sure you enjoy laughing with us (probably at us)." He added, "There will be a lot of chaos and probably a few moments we'll regret letting the cameras see, some ups and some downs, but it will be us. Our life should be lovely, calm, and simple… it is not. Watch out, Kardashians, we are coming for you!"
