Lorraine Kelly to Visit Stockport for Special Event in July

Television presenter Lorraine Kelly has announced she will be coming to Stockport at the start of next month for a special one-off event.

Event Details

Known for hosting daytime TV show Lorraine, which has been on the air since 2010, Kelly is also an author and released her debut novel The Island Swimmer back in 2024. She has just released its sequel, The Island Secret, to acclaim.

On July 3, Kelly will appear at St Michael and All Angels Parish Church in Bramhall for a special ‘An Evening with Lorraine Kelly’ event where she will speak in conversation with a leading host and answer questions from the audience.

Described as ‘an exciting evening of discussion, stories, and laughs, with one of the nation’s favourite broadcasters’, the hour-long event, which will run from 7.30pm, will be followed by an opportunity for fans to meet the TV star and get a signed copy of the latest ‘heart-warming and engaging’ novel.

Lorraine's Excitement

Discussing her literary work on The One Show earlier this week, Lorraine told presenters Alex Jones and Roman Kemp that she 'wasn't finished' with the characters in the first book. She explained: "I didn't want to say 'cheerio' to them. I didn't want to say bye-bye."

Speaking about the tour to promote her latest novel, which she described as 'big news', Lorraine said she was 'so excited' to be talking about the new book. She told fans on social media: "I’m looking forward to meeting you and having a chat."

Kelly is currently off-screen on her own chat show, with Ruth Langsford stepping in this week, as she is in Boston for the Scotland's World Cup. Football fans were left shocked last week when the TV star was spotted during coverage of Scotland’s clash with Haiti.

Organiser: Simply Books

The Bramhall event next month has been organised by local bookshop Simply Books, who have a store on Moss Lane in Stockport. Owned by mother-and-son Karen and Ben Johns for over two years, the store was voted Independent Bookshop of the Year for the North of England at the 2025 British Book Awards. It was also named a finalist at this year’s awards too.

The shop has previously hosted events both at its Bramhall base and across Greater Manchester with a number of award-winning authors including Cecelia Ahern, Anton du Beke, Anthony Horowitz, and Ardan O'Hanlon.

New Venue: Prologue

Earlier this year, it was announced that the team behind Simply Books will be opening a second venue in Stockport called Prologue with a new base at Weir Mill. Work on the new book store, bar and coffee shop is currently underway and is set to open later this year.

“We think we’ve come up with something which will fit in perfectly in the area,” co-owner Ben told the M.E.N earlier this year. “By day, it’ll be a bookshop and coffee shop and then by night, it’ll turn into a bar and live events venue - but it will also be somewhere chilled and relaxed for people to spend their evenings.

“We want people to feel they are able to come and grab a coffee or a glass of wine whilst reading a book, but we also want to be able to deliver more events because we know that’s what people have been asking for.”

Ticket Information

Lorraine Kelly will appear at St Michael and All Angels Parish Church (SK7 2PG) on July 3. Tickets for the event are priced from £10.
