Olympic champion swimmer Adam Peaty has spoken about the transformative impact of becoming a father for the second time, saying his baby daughter with wife Holly Ramsay will 'push me to grow up'. The couple, who married in December 2025, are expecting their first child together in December 2026.
Baby Announcement and Family Expansion
Peaty, 31, and Ramsay, 26, announced their pregnancy last month, sharing on social media: 'Baby Ramsay-Peaty coming December 2026. We can't wait to meet our baby girl.' The swimmer already has a five-year-old son from a previous relationship.
The couple wed in a glamorous ceremony at Bath Abbey last December, having reportedly met through Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, where Peaty appeared as a contestant and Ramsay's sister Tilly was also on the show.
Peaty's Reflections on Fatherhood
In a clip aired on BBC Breakfast ahead of the Commonwealth Games, Peaty shared: '2026 has already been one of those years. Our wedding was one of the best days of my life.' He added: 'Watching Holly walk down the aisle, it's a view that I'll never, ever forget. It's almost like I've got a snapshot in my brain, the music and the church was just incredible.'
Peaty also praised his father-in-law, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, saying: 'Having Gordon as my father-in-law is an incredible blessing.'
Growing Up and Priorities
The Olympic gold medallist reflected on the deeper meaning of fatherhood: 'I'm also expecting a baby, a little girl. While I'm incredibly excited, for me that role of being a father has been just incredible. And to have another human in this world that loves and cherishes you, I think it's the biggest blessing. My love for them isn't going to be judged by a medal.'
He added: 'And with Holly going through pregnancy, all I can pray for is her happiness and health as well as the baby. That does push me, even more, to grow up.'
Gordon Ramsay's Support
The baby will be the first grandchild of Gordon Ramsay, who has six children with wife Tana. The chef previously expressed his support for Peaty after the wedding, saying he 'couldn't be a prouder dad' and adding: 'I'm truly so lucky being able to walk this beautiful bride down the aisle and gaining an incredible son-in-law.'
BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
