ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard has died at the age of 77. He was reportedly surrounded by his family at his ranch in Richmond, Texas, at the time of his death.
Tour cancellations
Following his passing, ZZ Top have cancelled their shows in Salt Lake City and Colorado Springs this week. At present, the tour is expected to resume this weekend in Austin.
Frank's passing comes just days after the group pulled out of a gig at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl, which they put down to "insurmountable obstacles". It was later revealed that it was because of Frank's health, but no more details were given.
