Zara Tindall Fights Back Tears Over Late Trevor Hemmings

Zara Tindall was moved to tears while recalling her Olympic success with her husband, Mike, on his YouTube series. The emotional moment came as she spoke about the late Trevor Hemmings, owner of her horse High Kingdom, on the 'Mike Drop' channel in 2023.

Olympic Silver and a Special Bond

One year after marrying Mike in 2011, Zara and High Kingdom earned a silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics. During her career, the 45-year-old also won two gold medals at the 2005 European Championship and an individual gold and team silver at the World Equestrian Games the following year.

Zara began: "We managed to get him [High Kingdom] to the Olympics, which was incredible. Trev, Trevor Hemmings, has won so many amazing things in his racing career, Grand Nationals and things like that."

An Emotional Tribute

Hemmings died in 2021, and the memory brought up strong emotions for the royal. Zara teared up as she explained: "But to see his face at the Olympics and to get that team medal was amazing. And to be able to give something back to him when he had supported me for so long was incredible. I'm going to get emotional now..."

She also spoke openly about balancing motherhood and her equestrian career, admitting "mum guilt" occurred when she got back into shape after giving birth. Zara added: "I found it hard to get back to it. Mentally, you feel guilty leaving your child to do something else."

Family Life

Mike, who turns 48 today, and Zara have three children together: 12-year-old Mia Grace, eight-year-old Lena Elizabeth and five-year-old Lucas Philip. The couple first got together in November 2003 in Australia while Mike was competing at the Rugby World Cup for England, and married in 2011 in Edinburgh.
