VIEVE's new Skin Nova Concealer, priced at £28, is earning praise from mature shoppers who say it doesn't show up fine lines. Launched earlier this month, the skincare-infused, medium-buildable formula is designed to brighten, blur and even out the complexion while delivering a 'seamless', skin-like finish.
The brand describes it as 'your skin, on a really good day', working to 'soften redness' and help blur the appearance of pigmentation and blemishes without feeling heavy or cakey. It comes in 24 shades, while the fragrance-free formula is also packed with skincare ingredients.
Initial reviews positive
Among the star ingredients is polyglutamic acid, which supports hydration and moisture retention, complemented by collagen amino acids and botanical extracts aimed at helping skin appear smoother, brighter and more revitalised. Fine spherical powders generate a soft-focus effect, while coated pigments deliver even, buildable coverage, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Initial reviews of the Skin Nova Concealer have been overwhelmingly positive, both on the VIEVE website and at Space NK. One customer describes it as 'a show stopper of a staple product in my kit', while others report it 'covers all my bags'.
Shopper feedback
One said: "So pleased I purchased this. I bought the 130 light peach, it is slightly pale for my skin tone at the moment but still works and will be perfecy for the coming months. Just a gentle application and darks circles disappear, redness around the nose and chin gone. No creasing and great for my dry mature skin."
Another wrote: "Such a good concealer. Beautiful creamy texture, doesn’t show up the fine lines of my middle aged skin like some can and hides my dark circles so well. Will definitely be my new go to."

Mixed reviews and alternatives
However, not all customers were entirely convinced, with one reviewer noting: "At first, I was pleased - it blended easily and blurred my under shadows and lines - but after an hour or so, despite setting with powder and using a setting spray, it started to look patchy and cakey."
"Picked this up as I love their complexion balm and it's honestly so lovely," another enthusiast remarked. "It feels so lightweight on my skin, but is also super buildable, so it covers all my bags. Found my shade super easily as it matched what I wear in the Skin Nova complexion balm - just an epic duo all round (and trio with their Skin Nova primer)."
Elsewhere at Charlotte Tilbury, the Magic Away Concealer is priced at £31. Available in 20 shades, it's marketed as a full-coverage liquid concealer that diminishes the look of dark circles, blemishes and imperfections for 'fresher-looking second skin instantly'.
For a more budget-friendly option, the No7 Lift and Luminate Serum Concealer at Boots retails at £16.95 but is currently on promotion for £14.41. The retailer claims it 'instantly blurs' fine lines and wrinkles while masking age spots, pigmentation, and blemishes.
Application tips and popularity
At VIEVE, founder and makeup artist Jamie Genevieve suggests applying the new concealer down the central face area and beneath the eyes, before smoothing it out with the brand's 302 Double-Ended Build and Blend Brush or 119 Conceal and Prime Brush. It can be worn alone, combined with the Skin Nova Complexion Balm or used with your regular foundation.
The Skin Nova Complexion Balm is especially popular amongst older customers, with one declaring it the finest skin tint they'd ever bought. They said: "I have mature skin now, and this is the best skin tint I've purchased to date! Can't see past it now. Doesn't sit in fine lines and is beautiful on the skin, always get compliments when I have it on."
"Great for my Mature Skin. This balm enhances my skin. I use Skin Nova first. No one guesses my age," added another satisfied customer.
One drawback, however, is that certain shades tend to sell out regularly. A review on the VIEVE website stated: "This product feels lightweight and is easy to build for fuller coverage! Love the product, however, sometimes sold out for months at a time and therefore had to try other brands."
A further reviewer in their 50s noted that it leaves their more mature complexion with a beautifully radiant finish, commenting: "This is a fabulous foundation. It goes on beautifully and has a lovely dewy finish. I'm 50 plus, it looks lovely on my more mature skin as it doesn't emphasise my lines and wrinkles. I love it."
