Victoria Beckham is reportedly determined to make her 15-year-old daughter Harper the successor of Brand Beckham with the launch of Harper's own skincare line, Harlo by Harper Beckham, planned for next year. The news comes as a welcome distraction from the ongoing estrangement from her eldest son, Brooklyn, which a source says is a 'torture' for the former Spice Girl.
Harper to Follow in Mother's Footsteps
Harper, the youngest of Victoria and David Beckham's four children, is set to launch her own beauty brand, with her mother reportedly throwing all her support behind the venture. A source told the Mirror that Victoria is "determined to make Harper her little mini-me," noting that Harper has always copied her mother and enjoyed the glamour of fashion shows, unlike Brooklyn.
Harper frequently wears custom outfits from Victoria's fashion label and shares her mother's elegant style, making her a natural successor. Victoria, who launched her own globally successful beauty brand in 2019, is in a prime position to guide her daughter through the industry's pitfalls.
Brooklyn Estrangement Continues
Meanwhile, the rift with Brooklyn, 27, remains painful. Brooklyn has been estranged from the family since January, when he accused them of being 'controlling' and 'performative'. The pain was exacerbated last week when David and Victoria, along with son Romeo, holidayed in St Tropez, just five minutes away from where Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz were seen with Sir Elton John on his yacht.
Brooklyn and Nicola, 31, spent time with Elton and his husband David Furnish, sharing snaps on social media. David commented on Nicola's posts, saying, "So lovely having you both to stay with us……" and "Such a lovely time we all spent together." Although Sir Elton has reportedly 'no interest' in taking sides, Victoria was said to have taken it badly.
A Source Speaks of Victoria's Heartache
A source told the Mirror, "This new project is a distraction for Victoria, but it’s been torture for her. Brooklyn was so near to her, yet there’s no contact. She wakes up with this, goes to sleep with it. She’s trying to keep busy with work, but it never leaves her."
They added, "She doesn’t know how she’s going to cope without her son in her life. The pain only gets worse, because a day is another day apart. She thinks the longer this goes on, the more difficult it is to mend it. Victoria is distraught, heartbroken and devastated. She’s always hoping for a reconciliation."
Of the St Tropez trip, they said, "The Beckhams were holidaying right around the corner from Brooklyn and it’s a painful reminder for Victoria. But it doesn’t ever leave her - whether he’s a mile away or a million miles away - it hurts so much."
Victoria's Own Journey
In her Netflix documentary, released last October, Victoria admitted she knew little about the fashion industry when she started her fashion business 18 years ago. She said, "When I first started this fashion business, 18 years ago, I didn’t know a lot about the industry. I was scared. I was scared because I loved fashion and it was always my dream, but I knew what people thought. ‘She was a pop star, she’s married to a footballer. Who does she think she is?’"
She added, "I’ve now earned my place in this industry, and I have to work hard to maintain that." Now, it seems Harper will carry on the mantle, but for Victoria, the missing piece of her family remains an agonizing absence.
