Fan backlash over 'worst' line-up
With the show set to return to BBC One in September, viewers have taken to social media to complain about the celebrity cast, with several admitting they had to Google many of this year's names.
One fan wrote: "Not gonna lie, this is honestly the worst lineup in years. Social media people are not celebrities. Luckily I enjoy Strictly for its pros, let's hope something enjoyable will come out of this weird new season."
Another tweeted: "Okay...it has to be said. Hands down the WORST line up in #Strictly's entire history. They got our hopes up with Lacey, Dani and Delta...and then it seemed the budget was done. Barrel scraping is not even the term I'd use. Some of these 'celebs' barely fit the description!"
A third added: "I'm literally having to Google who most of the #Strictly 'celebs' are."
Social media stars and presenter shakeups
The BBC's decision to include more social media personalities like John Nellis and Cach Mercer, both of whom have large online followings, could be an attempt to appeal to Gen Z audiences. This tactic aims to modernise the show and attract new viewers.

Following the departure of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman in December, season 24 is seen as a gamble. Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe have been drafted in as replacements, but fan responses have been mixed. Additionally, Fleur East and Janette Manrara have been replaced on spin-off show It Takes Two, with Ellie Taylor taking over.
