Three Merseyside establishments have been named as finalists in the Annual British Burger Awards. Following the inaugural ceremony last year, the awards return bringing together some of the country’s best burger restaurants, businesses and talented individuals across the industry.
Shiraz BBQ up for best in north west
Categories are split into regions, along with standout awards such as 'street food burger of the year' and 'burger restaurant of the year'. Liverpool's Shiraz BBQ is in the running to be named 'best of north west England' against nine competitors.
The restaurant opened in 2012, serving charcoal fired Mediterranean and middle Eastern cuisine in a contemporary setting at the venue on North John Street. In 2017, the business opened a second, larger site, Shiraz Palace, on Ranelagh Street.
Cosy Club and Kraft Burger nominated
Liverpool ONE's Cosy Club restaurant, located on Paradise Street, is a finalist in the 'burger restaurant of the year' category. The Loungers-owned establishment arrived in the city in 2016.
Kraft Burger is the third Liverpool-based business nominated at the awards. The College Road venue, which opened in Crosby in 2020, is known for its extensive burger specials and generous portions.
