Tess Daly responded to Vernon Kay's sweet tribute with a two-word message as they both took to social media to celebrate their daughter's birthday, months after announcing their split.
The Stockport and Bolton-born stars are said to have met in 2001 while working for rival channels, apparently crossing paths at a BBC Christmas party. Two years later, in 2003, they tied the knot at St Mary's Catholic Church in Horwich, near Bolton, Vernon's hometown, and went on to welcome two daughters.
Split Announced in May
It was in May that Vernon, 52, and Tess, 57, shocked fans when they announced their split. They confirmed the news, which came ahead of the pair marking 23 years of marriage in September, by sharing a joint statement on both of their Instagram Stories.
The statement read: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us."
The stars added: "We remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority."
Birthday Tributes for Phoebe
They were true to their word on Friday (October 16) as they both took to social media with tributes to their eldest daughter, Phoebe, as she turned 22. Alongside pictures of the pair together from being little to now, Tess wrote on Instagram: "Happy Birthday to my beautiful Phoebe [heart emoji]."
The presenter added: "I’m so incredibly proud of the kind, caring and beautiful soul you are. Your big heart and the love you show others make you truly special. Never stop shining, chasing your dreams and staying true to yourself [stars and heart emojis]. So lucky to be your mum and forever cheering you on. Love you more than words can say."
BBC Radio 2 star Vernon also shared his own photos, with one of him and Phoebe together enjoying time together recently, and another of Tess with their daughter when she was younger, and said: "Happy Birthday @phoebeekay!!! Time flies!! [heart emoji] A joy watching you become the woman you are!" In response to the post, Tess wrote: "Our baby [heart emoji]," as their celebrity pals and fans rushed to also send their birthday wishes.
Recent Family Holiday
It was back in September that Tess and Vernon were seen enjoying a summer holiday with their children. Tess shared pictures from their French escape with their daughters and the post featured a rare picture of the foursome, with Amber largely being kept out of the spotlight previously, together at dinner, while other images showed Tess enjoying the getaway with Phoebe.
"Last blast of South of France summer with the fam," the former Strictly Come Dancing star captioned the post, to which Phoebe was quick to respond: "The best time." Phoebe, who has recently returned to the UK from a six-month stay in New York, also shared some photos from the getaway to her Instagram page, which she captioned: "Couldn’t miss out on a little euro summer trip."
