STV Radio competition offers Scottish school a pop concert

STV Radio presenters Ewen Cameron and Cat Harvey have announced a prize draw that will bring a live pop concert to one lucky Scottish school's assembly hall. The competition, revealed on their morning show on Monday, August 17, aims to ease the end of the summer holidays and support the STV Children's Appeal.

How to Enter and Fundraise

Schools across mainland Scotland can enter by registering on the STV Children's Appeal website and hosting a fundraising event of any size for the Big Scottish Breakfast campaign. The prize draw runs until 5pm on September 11, with each school allowed one entry submitted by a staff member over 18, who must have authorisation from the principal or head of school.

Big Scottish Breakfast Partnership

The Big Scottish Breakfast, in partnership with Kellogg's, encourages people to gather with friends, family, colleagues, or classmates to share breakfast and raise funds. Kellogg's will match every £1 raised up to £50,000, with all proceeds supporting school breakfast clubs throughout Scotland to tackle child hunger.

Presenters' Reaction

After the announcement, Ewen and Cat heard from school children about who they'd like to headline the gig. The duo donned school uniforms and joined children for a breakfast of cornflakes and chaos. Ewen said: "Cat and I had the best morning launching the Big Scottish Breakfast school prize draw. She always says I'm an overgrown schoolboy, so at least I finally looked the part! We know lots of kids listen to us with their mums, dads and guardians every morning, so we need all our wee pals to let their teachers know about the prize draw and get fundraising for this brilliant cause."

Cat added: "A pop concert in your assembly hall? I would have loved that when I was wee! This is going to be so much fun, and I can't wait to find out which school is going to win this amazing prize. One of the wee girls we shared breakfast with said she'd like to see Sabrina Carpenter top the bill, and although major American pop princesses may be trickier for us to pin down, we can guarantee it's going to be a day to remember for the winning school. And every penny raised supports school breakfast clubs, so it's win-win!"

Ewen and Cat at Breakfast airs weekdays on STV Radio from 6am until 10am.
