Strictly Come Dancing star Will Best has bid farewell from the Hits Radio studios as he prepares for the first elimination episode of the BBC ballroom competition.
On Thursday (October 1), the 41-year-old broadcaster returned to the airwaves alongside his afternoon show co-hosts Fleur East and James Barr. In the lead-up to the return of the autumn reality show, Will has been juggling his responsibilities as a radio host and preparing for Big Brother 2027.
Break from the studio
As he gears up for the first live show to end with a dance-off, the expectant dad has taken a break from the studio. Fleur began: "It's a sad day for us in the studio this morning. We all know by now our very own Will Best is the busiest man in showbizness. He's on Hits Radio Breakfast, Big Brother, and Strictly Come Dancing."
"He's doing it all. Will, we're going to give you a little break as a gift from us to you." The Big Brother host couldn't help but chuckle as he thanked his co-stars for their support.
Farewell messages
He replied: "Thank you very much, that's really sweet. Thanks, guys. I'm going to polish up the dancing shoes, get the twinkly toes ready to go, and that means that I can represent you guys to the best of my ability."
It was at this point that Fleur poked fun at his dance moves as she joked that he could be back on the airwaves sooner than he'd like. She quipped: "But you're going to be back in early November, right? And can we still check in with you about Strictly stuff? He's not coming back, guys!"
Will admitted: "Look, let's speak on the phone on a Friday to tell you how I think it's going to go, and then on a Monday to tell you what went wrong." Before his last show ended, Fluer gushed: "It's an emotional time, but everyone vote for Will, and we'll keep the campaign going for you on your behalf. We're all behind you."
Viewer support
It didn't take long for viewers to flock to social media to share their best wishes online. One user penned: "You shall be missed!" as another agreed: "Will is gonna be gone for ages. You deserve it".
A third chimed in with: "Oh man!! Good luck on Strictly, but hurry back, Will, you will be missed first thing in the morning!!" A fourth echoed: "We will miss you, Will. So glad that you can hopefully get some more rest. The busiest man in showbiz."
