Strictly Come Dancing's Lacey Turner has shown the gruelling injuries she has picked up in rehearsals just days before making her live dancefloor debut this weekend. The EastEnders star appeared on pro Vito Coppola's Instagram, where he shared insight into their preparations.
Rehearsal Struggles Revealed
Vito, who was eating when he started the video, told fans: "Hello, lovely people, of course I'm eating, and we've just done our lunch break and power nap, believe it or not." He then panned the camera to a seemingly worn-out Lacey, adding: "And now, we're going to do a little more dancing, and we're getting ready for this weekend."
In the next clip, the pair were on the ground doing seated butterfly stretches when the Italian native confessed that the "dancing transformation has started," alongside a plaster emoji. After Lacey groaned in pain, Vito asked: "What's up with your blisters?" before zooming in on her bruised, cut and sore feet.
Blisters and Bruises
The Stacey Slater star then pointed at a huge cut on her big toe, to which Vito chuckled and remarked: "Wow, nice," before sharing that it was caused by the "dancing shoes." As the actress groaned in pain, the pro then asked, "What's at the back?" Prompting Lacey to show the heels of her feet, which were red, bruised and blistered.
While she continued to whimper, Vito assured her: "Don't worry, it's going to pay off, it's going to pay off. All the pain is going to pay off, I can promise." Pointing the camera at the mirror, he added: "You're transforming yourself into a dancer," before cheering to the star.
Strictly Debut Ahead
Ahead of her Strictly appearance, Lacey opened up about starring in the contest and shared: "I'm excited to learn something new and to be a part of this whole glittery shenanigan. But I am absolutely terrified and hoping that will go once I'm in the training room and I can get into it. I'm going to create a character that I can play on a Saturday night, as that's the only way I'll get out there, I think!"
The series's first live episode will take place this weekend, following last Saturday's pre-recorded launch show, which will see the 15 couples back in the ballroom to perform live for the very first time. There will be no public vote or elimination, even though judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke will award the first set of scores. Those will be carried over to week two, when viewers will have their first opportunity to vote for their favourites.
