Thousands of Santander customers have reported problems accessing their accounts, with many saying they cannot log on through either the bank's app or its website.
Downdetector, a platform that tracks outages and issues on other sites and apps, recorded more than 2,800 reports shortly before noon from people experiencing problems related to the Santander site or application.
Customers report login failures
Several customers also took to the comment section to claim they could not log onto the app or site. One wrote: "Can't log on with app or pc. Online chat seems broken as well." Another wrote: "Anyone else having problems logging in to Santander? can't log in on app or computer".
The reports come as the bank's services appeared to be down, prompting widespread complaints online.
