Strictly Icons Week: Delta Out, Shaun Favourite to Go

Strictly Come Dancing returns to screens this evening for Icons Week, with the remaining celebrities hoping to top the leaderboard. However, one star will not dance: Delta Goodrem has been forced out of this week's show due to a rib injury.

Delta Goodrem's Injury and Bye

Delta and her professional partner Kai Widdrington topped the leaderboard last week but will sit out this weekend. In a statement, Delta said: "I’m absolutely gutted that a rib injury means I won’t be able to dance on Strictly this week. I’ve been loving every second of this experience, so having to sit this one out is heartbreaking – especially after the high of Saturday night."

She added: "I cannot tell you how much I love being a part of this magical show." The singer will focus on rest and recovery and hopes to "be back on that dancefloor very soon". She said: "I’ll be cheering everyone on from the sidelines this week!" As per show rules, Delta and Kai receive a bye to next week's show.

This Week's Dances

The celebrities will dance to tracks by icons including Mariah Carey, RAYE, Frank Sinatra and Jon Bon Jovi. The full lineup includes Bethany and Nancy dancing the Cha Cha to Aretha Franklin's "Respect", Dani and Nikita performing the Rumba to Mariah Carey's "Hero", and Jaime and Carlos dancing the Paso Doble to David Bowie's "Let's Dance".

Other dances include Lacey and Vito with an American Smooth to Adele's "Hometown Glory", Dame Sarah and Julian performing the Tango to Shania Twain's "That Don't Impress Me Much", and Tabby and Mark dancing the Samba to RAYE's "WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!".

Cach and Maddie will perform the Foxtrot to "Theme from New York, New York", Graeme and Lauren dance the Salsa to an ABBA medley, and John and Katya perform the Paso Doble to Bon Jovi's "It's My Life". Lawrence and Jowita dance the Salsa to Ricky Martin's "La Copa de la Vida", Shaun and Alexis perform a Couple's Choice to a James Brown medley, and Will and Dianne dance the Jive to Elton John's "Crocodile Rock".
