Strictly Come Dancing's 24th series launched on Saturday night (September 26) with a brand-new opening title sequence that left some viewers feeling queasy.
The first live show of the series aired with all 15 celebrities and their professional dance partners taking to the floor for the first time.
New hosts and dancers debut
In Strictly tradition, nobody was eliminated in the opening show, but there were several major changes to the programme. New hosts Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe presented their first live show, while five new professional dancers also made their debut.
Saturday's episode featured Dani Dyer and Nikita Kuzmin performing a samba to Zara Larsson's Lush Life, Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu dancing a quickstep to Stop This Flame by Celeste, and Dianne Buswell and Will Best performing a samba to Rock DJ by Robbie Williams.
Fans react to new titles
However, it was the new fast-paced opening title sequence that drew criticism from viewers. Taking to X, one fan @zakbrownz said: "New #strictly trailer making me feel sea sick," while @CabbageGrrl agreed: "Jesus I've got vertigo from this frantic intro #Strictly."
Another viewer @pipszenik wrote: "Immediately hate #strictly already what the hell were those titles I'm gonna be sick they've taken all the whimsy away." @meganpsitn said: "I will say, I'm not convinced on the wide shots for the opening titles. #Strictly," while @paradiseieahwait wrote: "That whole opening segment fully threw me off #Strictly."
