Strictly Come Dancing fans were left distracted by Will Best's outfit within minutes of the 2026 series opening live show, which aired on Saturday (September 26).
The Big Brother presenter was the first celebrity to take the floor, dancing the Samba to Robbie Williams' 'Rock DJ' alongside partner Dianne Buswell. Yet viewers were immediately sidetracked by his leather trousers and black vest ensemble, with many rushing to social media to praise the look.
Fans praise Will Best's look and performance
On X, formerly Twitter, one admirer wrote: "Will in the vest and leather pants [fire emoji] #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing," while another gushed: "Will Best in LEATHER. I'm gone." The fresh Strictly sensation was even branded "eye candy" following his appearance.
His routine earned equally enthusiastic acclaim from home viewers. One enthusiast declared: "I've seen enough, Will Best my winner #Strictly," while another remarked: "Thought Will Best's performance was very impressive especially for the week #Strictly."
The duo scored 18 points from judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke, a total that will be carried forward to their next routine. There is no public voting or elimination this week, with supporters getting their first chance to back their favourites in week two.
New spin-off show announced
In addition to the main programme, the BBC is set to air a new spin-off series titled Strictly: Lights Up. Presented by Strictly veteran Tyler West and comedian Abi Clarke, the companion show will be available on BBC iPlayer every Sunday night, immediately following the results show.
As per its synopsis: "Abi and Tyler will take viewers straight onto the Strictly dance floor for immediate reactions from the night's eliminated couple, their dance off opponents - plus the judges, hosts, other Strictly stars and studio guests."
