Strictly fans demand Lethabo partner after Movie Week debut

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left issuing the same complaints just minutes into the latest live show. The hit BBC series returned to screens on Saturday night (October 3), as Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe and Josh Widdicombe hosted Movie Week, which has arrived earlier in the series than usual.

Professionals routine sparks reaction

The show began with a special professionals routine, which saw the dancers perform a Zootropolis-inspired dance to Shakira's Try Everything and Zoo. The pros were led by new addition Lethabo Monametsi, with fans left distracted by her "mesmerising" presence.

This left viewers issuing complaints over Lethabo not receiving a celebrity partner this year. "I've seen enough give Lethabo a partner next year," one person demanded on X.

Another added: "Lethabo is INCREDIBLE!! I wish she'd been given a partner, what a star she is!!" A third said: "Lethabo is mesmerising to watch and we only get to see her in group dances." Someone else commented: "Lethabo should've had a celeb partner she is a STARR."

Leaderboard and elimination ahead

The 15 couples then took to the dance floor in a bid to impress judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and Craig Revel Horwood.

Last week, John Nellis and Katya Jones topped the leaderboard with 31 points, closely followed by Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdrington with 29 points. Meanwhile, Melanie Walters, Shaun-Wright Phillips and Sarah Storey found themselves at the other end of the scoring, with each of them earning 15 points from the judges.

Last week's scores will be combined with the totals from Movie Week to create a joint score for each couple. This comes ahead of the first elimination of the series, which will take place on Sunday (October 4).
