Strictly fans back 'underrated' Tabby Stoecker as potential winner

Strictly Come Dancing viewers are tipping British skeleton racer Tabby Stoecker as a potential winner of the BBC show, despite other couples taking the top spot on the leaderboard during Icons Week.

The October 17 episode saw two couples tie for first place with 34 points each. Love Island star Cach Mercer and partner Maddie Ingoldsby impressed judges with a Foxtrot, scoring 8, 9, 8, 9, while actress Jaime Winstone and professional partner Carlos Gu earned the same marks for a David Bowie-themed Paso Doble.

Fan favourite emerges

However, many viewers believe another contestant could snatch the glitterball trophy. During the show, one fan wrote on X: "Tabby's becoming one of my favourite contestants in this competition, she's delivering in these dances and got potential winner written all over her."

Tabby Stoecker and her professional partner Mark Karmalita scored 29 points for their Samba, placing them in a three-way tie for fifth position alongside Lacey Turner & Vito Coppola and John Nellis & Katya Jones.

Close to the top in Week 3

Tabby, 25, has not topped the leaderboard outright in any week so far, but she came close in Week 3 with her Argentine Tango, finishing joint second with 31 points, just two points behind Delta Goodrem, who scored 33.

The original post gained thousands of views and hundreds of likes, with many agreeing. One person wrote: "Same, I had no idea who she was before strictly but she quickly became my fave celebrity I absolutely love her!" Another added: "Tabby and Mark, I am obsessed!" A third commented: "Oh, Tabby is that diva," while a fourth said: "Tabby is the underrated star of the series."

Mixed opinions and Delta's absence

Not everyone agreed, though. One viewer wrote: "Tabby, Cach, and Delta (if she comes back) are finalist material in my opinion," while another said: "Would love to see Tabby win but, I think Lacey (Turner) might beat her."

Delta Goodrem was absent from the show due to a painful rib injury, and under standard Strictly rules, she was granted a bye through to Week 5. Doctors advised her to rest, and both Delta and the BBC confirmed she is expected to return next week if her recovery goes smoothly. Her professional partner Kai Widdrington also confirmed her return plans on It Takes Two on Friday, October 16.

The Strictly Come Dancing Week 4 Results show airs tonight at 7:10 pm on BBC One and is available to stream live or on-demand via BBC iPlayer.
