Strictly Come Dancing 2026 fans believe they already know who will win the Glitterball Trophy after just one week of performances. Despite John Nellis topping the leaderboard, viewers have named Australian singer Delta Goodrem as their predicted champion.
Delta Goodrem emerges as fan favourite
Delta Goodrem's samba in week one impressed viewers, with many taking to social media to declare her the winner. One fan wrote: "Ummm, having seen Delta smash that samba in week 1… I think she could be in contention to win it." Another added: "Delta, in it to win it."
A third fan posted: "QUEEN DELTA calling it now," while others commented: "She the one to watch for sure" and "Delta Goodrem is the one to watch."
John Nellis tops leaderboard but not everyone's pick
Content creator John Nellis, partnered with Katya Jones, stormed to the top of the leaderboard with 31 points, scoring four marks of eight from the judges. However, fans remain divided on whether he will take the trophy.
EastEnders actress Lacey Turner and Love Island's Dani Dyer also earned early praise for their routines, but it was Delta Goodrem who captured the public's imagination.
Soap stars back their own contenders
EastEnders' Emma Barton, who plays Honey Mitchell, said of Lacey Turner: "Lacey is just the most adorable woman and the audience is gonna fall in love with her. Whatever she tackles, whatever she's given, she goes in 10 out of 10, 100 percent."
Emmerdale co-stars Katie Hill and Jeff Hordley are backing Lawrence Robb. Katie said: "I think he was brilliant [last week]. I think everyone will love him. He's such a lovable person. He's so positive." Jeff added: "He's a joy. I share a dressing room with him, and he's just such a lovely man."
Jeff joked: "If it goes on a personality contest, Lawrence will win hands down. I don't know about the dancing, but we'll see." Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
