Stacey Solomon, the singer-turned-presenter who rose to fame on The X Factor in 2009, has been revealed as a former babysitter for a reality TV star. Courtney Green, who joined The Only Way is Essex in 2016, shared the revelation on the official TOWIE podcast, You Alright, Hun?, from ITVX.
Courtney Green's Childhood Connection
When host Denise Van Outen asked about the most famous person in her phonebook, Courtney named Stacey Solomon. She explained that Stacey used to babysit her when she was younger. 'She used to sing to me all the time. She was so nice!' Courtney recalled. Asked about Stacey's strictness, Courtney said, 'She wasn't strict. She'd let me stay up past my bedtime. She was a good babysitter.'
Stacey Solomon's Rise to Fame
Stacey Solomon first gained fame on The X Factor in 2009, finishing third behind Olly Murs and Joe McElderry. She then won I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2010, launching her TV career. She is now a panellist on Loose Women and hosts Sort Your Life Out for the BBC.
Recent Singing Moments
Despite stepping back from music, Stacey shared a video in December 2024 of her singing 'What a Wonderful World' at her grandmother's care home. She wrote, 'The song that started everything. Every Christmas my Grandma asks me to sing at the care home. And I'll never not sing for Grandma.'
Earlier this year, she told BBC Radio 2 that she has no plans to return to singing professionally due to performance anxiety. 'The anxiety I used to get every Saturday night. My mouth would go so dry... I don't remember the performances. I would completely black out,' she said.
