Several members of the Royal Family gathered in London on Sunday evening for an event paying tribute to the late Duchess of Kent, who died in September 2025.
The Duke of Kent, 90, was joined by his brother, Prince Michael of Kent, 84, at the event at Sinfonia Smith Square. All three of the Duchess's children attended: Lady Helen Taylor, the Earl of St Andrews and Lord Nicholas Windsor, along with granddaughters Lady Marina Windsor and Lady Amelia Windsor.
Family and charity concert
The Prince and Princess of Kent's son, Lord Freddy Windsor, was also present with his wife, Sophie Winkleman. The concert was hosted by Alexander Armstrong and organised by Future Talent, a charity co-founded by the Duchess to support gifted young musicians from low-income backgrounds.
The evening included performances by more than 40 young musicians and alumni, including the Future Talent Orchestra. King Charles, Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales were not in attendance.
Legacy and funeral
Katharine, the Duchess of Kent, died on September 4, 2025, at Kensington Palace's Wren Cottage, aged 92. Her funeral was the first Catholic funeral service staged for a member of the Royal Family in modern British history.
The Duchess became the first member of the Royal Family to convert to Catholicism in more than 300 years, doing so in 1994. It was her wish to have her funeral at Westminster Cathedral.
