Paul Hollywood made a surprise visit to Lovely Artisan bakery in Kendal, where the team teased they have been filming with the Channel 4 judge for a project set to air next spring.
The bakery, which has locations in the Lake District and at Altrincham Market, shared a photo on Instagram of their time with Hollywood. They described the day as "an absolute blast" and said it was "a real honour" to welcome him and his crew.
Bakery reveals details of the visit
In their Instagram post, the bakery addressed questions from followers, confirming that Hollywood's eyes are "really that blue and sparkly" and that he is "every bit as lovely as we'd hoped." They also noted that he still bakes, adding that "his depth and breadth of baking knowledge are incredible."
The team said they "could have nattered about bread and bakery life for days" and would repeat the experience "in a heartbeat." They finished the day "enriched, inspired and still giggling."
What to expect on screen
When asked when viewers would see them on television, the bakery replied: "Next spring! And trust us, the world and his wife will know when it's time." They added that they are "incredibly proud to play a small part in what promises to be a wonderful series."
Hollywood has been a judge on The Great British Bake Off since it first aired in 2010, originally alongside Mary Berry. After Berry left in 2016 when the show moved from the BBC to Channel 4, Dame Prue Leith joined as co-judge. More recently, Nigella Lawson took over as co-judge after Prue stepped down, with Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond now presenting.
