The Ospreys Under-18s squad for this season's Regional Age Grade competition includes the sons of four former Wales Grand Slam winners.
Notable selections
Second-row Jacob Jones, son of former Wales captain Ryan Jones, has also been selected for the Wales Under-18 development squad, joining training camps in the Netherlands and Scotland. He is regarded as one of the country's most highly rated young forwards.
Outside-half Harisson Hook, son of former Wales fly-half James Hook, is also included. The playmaker is considered one of the academy's brightest prospects.
Hook gained wider attention in March when he kicked a last-gasp penalty to secure a 22-20 win for Ospreys Under-16s against Scarlets Under-16s. The kick went viral, and he also converted a kick in his father's testimonial in 2022.
Prop Mason James is the son of former Wales international Paul James, and his older brother Dylan represented Wales Under-20s this season.
Hooker Bobbie Bennett, whose father Huw won 51 caps for Wales and is currently the men's national team's head of physical performance, has also been named in the Wales U18s development squad.
Other squad members
Tighthead prop Lewis Morse, younger brother of Wales international Morgan Morse, is also in the squad.
Lock Jonah Ratti, cousin of Ospreys and Wales second row James Ratti, has strong rugby pedigree.
Competition pedigree
The Ospreys U18s have won the Regional Age Grade competition two years in a row. Last season they beat Cardiff U18s 19-17 at Cardiff Arms Park, with Cardiff missing a last-minute penalty that hit the post.
The competition has historically been a springboard for players to progress to professional and international level. Most players are in the senior academy setups of Wales' four professional clubs and will soon feature in Super Rygbi Cymru.
