Thirty years ago today, Oasis performed one of the most legendary gigs in British music history. At the peak of their powers, the band was riding high on the success of their second album, (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, released a year earlier. Their singles Some Might Say and Don't Look Back In Anger topped the UK charts, while Roll With It and Wonderwall reached number two.
A Quarter of a Million Fans
Over two nights on August 10 and 11, 1996, Oasis played to 250,000 people at Knebworth in Hertfordshire. The shows are widely regarded as the band's absolute peak. Noel Gallagher once said: "I guess it's no coincidence that as that is the band at its peak, it is because the singer is at his peak. You are only as good as your frontline. Any band. And if that is Oasis at its peak, which it is, it is because Liam is at its peak. Liam is at his zenith with his voice and the way that he looks."
Rumours of a 2027 Return
Following last year's Oasis Live '25 comeback tour, there are massive but unconfirmed rumours that the band will return to Knebworth in 2027.
