Benjamin Satterley, the Newcastle-born wrestler known as Pac in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Adrian Neville in WWE, has died aged 40, just one day after his final match. AEW confirmed the news on Monday, September 28, UK time.
A career spanning two decades
Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and performed for organisations worldwide, becoming known for his high-flying moves and in-ring ability. He signed with AEW in 2019 and held multiple championships, competing in some of the promotion's most memorable matches.
Before joining AEW, Satterley performed in WWE from 2012 to 2018, where he was known as Adrian Neville. He was celebrated for his gritty performances and became one of AEW's veterans.
Final match and tributes
Satterley appeared in his final match in Chicago on Saturday evening against AEW national champion Andrade. He lost, shook hands with his opponent, and appeared in another face-off later that night, according to reports.
Tributes poured in under the AEW statement posted to Instagram. One fan wrote: "Heartbreaking, thank you for all the memories for over a decade." Another said: "Rest in Peace PAC, watched you since the NXT days. My condolences." A third commented: "No way! Pac ruled, I just watched him fight last night! RIP!"
No cause given
No cause of death has been provided for Satterley's passing. Earlier in September, AEW also mourned wrestler Andy "The Butcher" Williams, who died from a heart attack.
