All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has announced the death of Benjamin Satterley, the British wrestler known as Pac, aged 40. The Newcastle-born performer died on Monday (September 28), just 24 hours after his final match.
Career spanning two decades
Satterley, originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, competed under the ring names Pac in AEW and Adrian Neville in WWE throughout a career that began in 2004. AEW confirmed the news in a statement shared in the early hours of Monday morning UK time.
The statement read: "All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac. A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability."
AEW and WWE career
Pac signed with AEW in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships, competing in some of the most memorable matches in the company's history. Before joining AEW, he wrestled in WWE from 2012 to 2018.
The statement added: "Our condolences go out to Satterley's family, friends and fans." The cause of his death has not been revealed.
Tributes from fans
Tributes have poured in beneath the announcement shared on Instagram. One fan wrote: "Heartbreaking, thank you for all the memories for over a decade." Another added: "Rest in Peace PAC, watched you since the NXT days. My condolences." A third commented: "No way! Pac ruled, I just watched him fight last night! RIP!"
Satterley made his final appearance in Chicago on Saturday evening, facing AEW national champion Andrade. AEW is also mourning the loss of fellow wrestler Andy "The Butcher" Williams, who died following a heart attack earlier in September.
