Looking for a way to brighten up your Monday back at work? Our weekly quiz, Name the Football Star, is just the ticket. Star Gold premium subscribers can test their football knowledge by identifying famous stars from the beautiful game.
There's a catch, though. All you have to go on is the player's Wikipedia profile and their senior career clubs. The only clues you get are their list of clubs, number of appearances, and number of goals scored — essentially the information on the right-hand side of their Wikipedia page. You won't be told their nationality or position.
Identify the Players
Can you identify the five footballers just by perusing their Wikipedia column? Among the answers this week, there's a midfield marvel who controversially forced his way out of the Premier League, a two-time title winner, and a Champions League hero.
To bag all five points, simply type in the name of the player you believe it is. But watch out: any misspellings will result in a fail for that question. We're feeling generous, so we'll accept either their full name or just their first or last name — whichever you can remember.
