Frank McNally MP has welcomed a £5,000 award for Shining Stars Theatre School through the UK Labour Government-funded Coatbridge Pride in Place programme.
The award forms part of the Community Empowerment Grant Fund, which supports local voluntary and community organisations delivering activities that strengthen communities and create opportunities for people to come together. Grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 have been made available.
£19.5 million investment over ten years
Coatbridge has secured £19.5 million over ten years through Pride in Place, with the first £6.6 million covering the initial four-year investment programme. Priorities identified by local residents include more opportunities for young people, investment in existing local attractions and improvements to the town centre.
MP visits Shining Stars
Coatbridge MP Frank McNally recently visited Shining Stars to mark the award. He said: "Shining Stars does fantastic work providing opportunities for people of all ages in Coatbridge, and I was delighted to visit and congratulate them on receiving £5,000 through Pride in Place."
