Supermarket Frosted Flakes Taste Test: Morrisons Beats Kellogg's Frosties
Morrisons Frosted Flakes Beat Kellogg's in Taste Test

Morrisons' own-brand frosted flakes have beaten Kellogg's Frosties in a blind taste test, scoring 5/5 compared to the original's 4/5, and at £1.75 for 500g, they cost half the price of the branded cereal.

The test, conducted by Nicola Roy for What's On, involved six bowls of frosted flakes from major supermarkets. Kellogg's Frosties, priced at £3.50 for a 470g box, took second place, with tasters noting they were "almost identical to how I recalled them, albeit a little less sweet."

Rankings and Prices

The full rankings placed Tesco's frosted flakes last, scoring 1/5. At just 95p for a 500g box, they were the most affordable but were described as "incredibly bland" with an odd aftertaste.

Asda's version, at £1.15 for 500g, came fifth with a 2/5 score, losing its sugary coating in milk and becoming soggy quickly. Aldi's 750g box at £1.45 took fourth place with 3/5, slightly lacking in flavour. Lidl's 500g box at £1.15 also scored 3/5, praised for its sweetness and crunch.

Morrisons Takes the Crown

Morrisons' frosted flakes, at £1.75 for 500g, were the standout winner. Both parents in the blind test preferred them, convinced they were the real Frosties. The article notes they were "the sweetest and crunchiest variety of the bunch" with no unpleasant aftertaste.

The test concluded that most people would struggle to tell Morrisons' version apart from actual Frosties, making it a "no-brainer" at half the price.
