A married couple from Mid Glamorgan have won £1 million on the National Lottery’s Lotto after playing the same numbers for decades. The couple, both in their 60s, matched the winning numbers in the draw on Saturday, August 1.
Decades of the same numbers
They have played Lotto since it began, using a combination of birthdays and house numbers. They buy a ticket each week and usually check their numbers on a Sunday.
The couple said they planned to use the winnings to buy a new home and help their family.

“We just can’t believe it! We’re looking forward to moving to a lovely new home and helping out the family,” they said.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at Allwyn, which operates the National Lottery, congratulated the couple on their win.
