Love Island winner Nathan Massey reveals body transformation

Love Island winner Nathan Massey has revealed his impressive body transformation after an unflattering holiday photo prompted him to overhaul his fitness regime.

The 34-year-old, who found fame on the ITV2 dating show a decade ago, shared before-and-after pictures with his Instagram followers as he reflected on the progress he has made over the past seven months.

A Shocking Photo

Nathan explained that he had previously considered himself to be in good shape – until a friend took a photograph of him from behind which made him reconsider.

Sharing the snap that kickstarted his fitness journey, he wrote: "A year ago I thought I was in great shape until my friend took a picture of me from behind and I was shocked."

He followed it with a gym selfie taken around the time he decided to make changes, adding: "So I thought it’s time for a change."

Seven Months of Progress

Nathan then unveiled the results of months of work, showing off a noticeably leaner and more muscular physique in a recent mirror selfie. Proud of his progress, the dad-of-two said: "7 months in and I’m feeling great! Life’s all about balance."

Nathan became a household name after appearing on the second series of Love Island in 2016, where he met his future wife Cara De La Hoyde. The couple went on to win the series together, beating out fellow couples Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland, and Scott Thomas and Kady McDermott, for the crown.

Despite briefly splitting in 2017, they later reconciled and went on to have two children and got married in 2019.

Family Life and Fan Support

Earlier this year, Nathan proudly confirmed that they are still as loved up, sharing a sweet montage video filled with clips of their two children, Freddie-George and Delilah. He captioned the adorable post: "10 years in and we’re still winging it … #wingingit #parentlife #parentproblems."

Followers instantly flooded the comments section with praise for the lovebirds, with one insisting: "This was the best season and you two was the best couple ever!!! [sic]." "Love Island ain’t the same like it used to be and I love this for you guys so much!!!!," another commented, while a fan replied: "Don’t you dare make me rewatch your season … ok fine, I will. Happy ten years to yous two [sic]."

"I remember watching this season of Love Island. I was rooting for them all the way. Its so wholesome to see how far they've gotten. And their children are truly beautiful," an Instagram user said, as a commenter added: "Still the best love island season by far. Happy 10 years guys xx."

Cara recently shared that, although they won Love Island and have managed to stay together, she wasn’t sure whether she could "handle" what the show has turned into today.

"It’s changed so much. I don’t think I could handle it today - it’s more ruthless and scary now," she told the Mirror last year. "I don’t take myself seriously enough… people would be like, ‘Is she okay?’"

"We were 10 seasons ago, and the pressure now is mad. We didn’t even have TikTok!" she added. "We just thought we might get a few PAs and then go back to work."
