Love Island fans were left furious after a dramatic recoupling cliffhanger left someone at risk, with many pointing the finger at Sam. The Love Island Villa erupted into mayhem following the latest recoupling, which sent ripples of shock throughout the group. Though it was branded as 'wicked' by viewers, some vowed to boycott future episodes entirely.
Now into its second week, the 13th series has already delivered heaps of drama. There have been numerous bombshells, an early exit and a fake elimination already. This evening's episode was largely centred around the Terrace as it appeared to serve as a makeshift Hideaway for several Islanders. Samraj whisked Mica up there for a snog, before Sam's guided tour with Victoria transformed into a passionate kiss, then Kavan found himself sharing a 'steamy' encounter with Jasmine, reports OK!
The night that followed though, as the Islanders tried to savour their evening in the Villa, Yasmin's phone buzzes with a message. She becomes so startled by the notification that she accidentally tips her red wine across Aidan's shirt, creating a prominent mark. The text states: "Could all Islanders gather around the Fire Pit immediately." Once assembled, Kavan reads aloud another message: "Tonight there will be a recoupling where the boys will decide which girl they want to couple up with."
It goes on: "As Victoria and Namibia are the newest arrivals, they will decide who they want to couple up with first." Recent bombshells Namibia and Victoria step forward, with Namibia choosing Sam, explaining he has been 'really welcoming'. Victoria follows, admitting it 'wasn't an easy decision' and selects Ope. Finding himself in a completely fresh pairing, Ope appears visibly uneasy. Viewers were left hanging to discover what unfolds during the rest of the recoupling and the Islander's responses, without even a teaser clip to savour.
It doesn't take long for those tuning in at home to express their own thoughts about the latest twists. Many criticised the episode's cliffhanger with some voicing their worry that one star would be compelled to exit the Villa in the next episode. One posted on social media saying: "Tonight's cliffhanger is so evil." Another added: "Are they mad? Where's the rest of the recoupling?" Article continues below. While a third commented: "These cliffhangers are actually a joke." One person shared their concern that Angelista was left at risk of the first actual dumping, as they said: "Thats actually so unfair they shouldn't dump Angelista cause its genuinely out of her control." Someone else agreed and vowed: "If Angelista is going home I'll never turn this show on ever again." One person pointed the finger in one direction and replied: "I'm blaming SAM for this." Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
