American actor Patrick Fabian, known for roles in Friends, Will & Grace and Better Call Saul, paid a surprise visit to Uno's restaurant in Newcastle after spending several days hiking through Northumberland.
The Quayside Italian, which has been trading for 37 years, was a favourite of Newcastle United players during the Entertainers era of the mid-to-late 1990s. Rob Lee, Steve Watson and Darren Peacock attended a reunion there a few years ago.
Recent celebrity visitors
In the past 12 months, the restaurant has hosted several well-known figures. Peter Andre praised the warm welcome he received after performing in a Frankie Valli tribute show, while Doctor Who and Our Friends in the North star Christopher Ecclestone was seen there over the summer after attending the nearby Live Theatre.
Former Newcastle United defender John Anderson also delighted staff with his visit, followed by Game of Thrones actor Iain Glen, just weeks before filming began in Newcastle on his new ITV drama, Bad Blood.
Hiking trip and Instagram post
Fabian, who appeared in the 200th episode of Friends and had a lead role in Saved By The Bell spin-off The College Years in the 1990s, documented his travels on Instagram. He said he enjoyed 'perfect weather' and 'astonishing views' during his trip to Hadrian's Wall.
Sharing a photo of Fabian inside the restaurant still wearing his hiking gear, Uno's wrote: "If you need a table at UNO's… Better Call Howard Hamlin!
