Lorraine Kelly secures new ITV deal until 2027

Lorraine Kelly has signed a new one-year deal with ITV that will keep her daytime show on air until at least the end of 2027. The agreement was confirmed by ITV boss Kevin Lygo in recent weeks.

Schedule shake-up and recommission

At the start of 2026, Lorraine's ITV programme was reduced to 30 weeks of the year and cut to 30 minutes as part of a schedule shake-up. After the announcement in May 2025, some TV insiders suggested it would be the final year the show was on air.

However, ITV sources said it is now common for “recommissions to be renewed annually on year round shows”. They added: “Lorraine’s show remains a very important part of the daytime mix alongside Good Morning Britain and This Morning. Viewers love her and she will continue with the show.”

Lorraine's own words

Lorraine confirmed her new deal at the Edinburgh Book festival, while admitting she has more novels to write and will quit TV at some point. She said: “I’ve just signed a new contract. I'll be there until next November, definitely, and after that we will see what happens.”

Asked about stepping away in the future, she replied: “Oh gosh, yes, absolutely” without setting a time frame. She has fronted Lorraine since 2010 but now spends more time with her daughter Rosie and two-year-old granddaughter Billie. “They are the centre of the universe,” she said on stage, explaining her changing priorities.

Career honours and earlier comments

Lorraine's new book The Island Secret has just been published. She was honoured by BAFTA two years ago for outstanding contribution to television, received an OBE in 2012 and a CBE eight years later.

In a June interview with Saga Magazine, she said of the ITV daytime cuts: “Really rubbish. A lot of my team got made redundant. It was really hard and harder for them. We were very close-knit, but it’s all about budget. All television shows are in the same boat, we’re not alone.”

She previously told the Mirror: “I don't see me going anywhere until people get fed up, you know? Until people say, 'I've had enough of that one’.”
