Jacquet impresses on debut
Jacquet, making his first appearance of pre-season after recovering from a knee injury, doubled Liverpool's lead before half-time with a tap-in from Gakpo's low cross. The centre-back also made a goal-saving tackle shortly before his strike, showing composure on the ball and putting in challenges.
Ronald Araujo made his first Liverpool appearance since joining on a season-long loan from Barcelona, replacing Jacquet at half-time.
Gakpo sends reminder
Gakpo, linked with a move to Tottenham, broke the deadlock on 23 minutes, controlling the ball well and slotting home in one motion after Jeremie Frimpong lifted the ball over Como's defence.
With Mo Salah gone, the goal served as a reminder of what Liverpool would be losing if they sell Gakpo.
Jones absent again
Curtis Jones was missing for the second game running, with his future uncertain amid reported interest from Inter Milan. Liverpool say the 25-year-old has been dealing with a hip problem and trained alone on Sunday.
Wirtz conundrum
Florian Wirtz, signed for a then-club-record £116million a year ago, showed neat touches but didn't cause Como enough problems. Fans are starting to doubt whether he deserves a starting berth, especially with Alexis Mac Allister on the verge of a return.
