LEGO's new DC Arkham Asylum set, released for the 20th anniversary of its Batman debut, has 2,953 pieces and 16 minifigures, and fans are calling it the set they've been waiting for. The set, priced at £269.99, is one of several new Batman-themed builds released to mark the occasion, which also coincided with Batman Day on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
What's in the Arkham Asylum set
The Arkham Asylum set includes minifigures of Batman, Batwoman, Batwing, Catwoman and Robin, alongside DC villains Mr Freeze, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, Bane, the Joker, the Penguin, Killer Croc and two security guards.
The model splits into three segments – the ground floor, first floor and roof – with removable elements allowing access to the interior. It also features an inmate delivery van, opening prison cells and 65 stickers referencing 'Batman lore'. A coffee-table-style guide provides step-by-step building instructions and design details.
Fans share their verdicts
LEGO describes the set as a 'great present for adult Batman fans' and suggests building it over 24 days as a Batman advent calendar for December. The set currently holds a 4.7 star rating on LEGO's website.
One shopper said: "This is a set I've been waiting for. Our first (and hopefully not only) DC modular building, and it being Arkham Asylum makes sense. The figure selection is great, only complaint is that some of the villains could have come with their regular outfits."
Another customer posted: "This set was easily my favourite I've ever built. From the small Easter eggs to the amazing minifigure selection, this set was a must get for a massive Batman fan like myself. The stickers are well spaced out and are not nearly as bad as people are saying. 10/10, would recommend."

One buyer, however, noted: "Much of the interior is so narrow my son can't really play with it. Also, the roof is designed with the least amount of LEGOs possible making it incredibly fragile and falling apart about 10 times while we attempted to build."
