Khloe Kardashian, who celebrates her 42nd birthday on Saturday, has transformed her physique over the past decade, shedding the 'fat one' label through relentless dedication. Now regarded as having the best body among the Kardashian sisters, she credits her divorce from Lamar Odom in 2015 as the catalyst for her health overhaul.
Divorce Sparked the Change
Speaking to Bustle, Khloe explained: 'My weight loss journey started because I was getting a divorce. I remember I was going to therapy and the next thing I knew, something private I told my therapist was on a tabloid. So I stopped going to therapy and started going to the gym. I needed a release, but I did not trust anybody else anymore. And the place that I felt the safest was the gym.'
From Unhealthy to Fit
Although often labeled 'the fat one,' Khloe insists she wasn't fat, just overweight and unhealthy. She said: 'Looking back at pictures of myself I didn't realise at the time how unhealthy my lifestyle actually was. People love to call me the fat one but as weird as it sounds I still don't think I would consider myself fat back then. Definitely overweight and unhealthy, yes.'
Rigorous Training Regimen
Khloe trains at least five times a week, starting at 5:30 a.m. Her trainer Joel Bouraima told Poosh: 'Let me start by saying that no matter what time Khloé and I are working out, she’s always at the gym 30 minutes before to stretch and warm up, that way we really have a full hour of exercising together. And yes, even when we start at 6 a.m., she’s in her gym at 5:30 a.m., stretched and ready for me.'
Her sessions include circuit training with cardio intervals, featuring exercises like skipping, 30-second planks, squats, push-ups, mountain climbs, and lunges, performed in sets of three. She also attends Pilates classes regularly.
Diet and Consistency
Khloe balances her workouts with a healthy diet, typically eating eggs, fruit, and oatmeal for breakfast after her session, and grilled chicken with vegetables for lunch or dinner. She emphasizes that her results come from consistency, building up from a slow start to training 4-5 days a week.
Dealing with Criticism
Despite her confidence, Khloe admits critics still affect her. She said: 'I was fat-shamed every day when I was bigger, and then when I lost weight, people were like, "How dare you, you are so insecure, you’re following society." And I’m like, "Okay, you guys are so confusing!" I realised you’ll never make everyone happy.'
